nDecide on
what you want to measure
nIf you want
to use the most stringent of research approaches, you will use
pre/post measurement. You may choose a
standardized instrument for this purpose or develop your own
measure.
nIf you are
interested in a more subjective approach, you can have the members
rate their success in obtaining the goals of the group.
nYou can
also have members set their own goals in the first session and then have
them rate their success in obtaining their goals.
nIf you want
to know what knowledge was gained in the group, you can develop
a list of questions related to the information taught in the group. These questions can be asked prior to
participation in the group and again upon completing the group.
nMember satisfaction
can be measured by asking members to rate their perceptions
on the effectiveness of the group leaders, activities, and information.
